Announcing the next regular tournament from the new local press ganger- in conjunction with Cut and Thrust Bristol.

Sunday 25th March

35 point steamroller – 2 lists, baseline character restrictions (i.e. you can’t have the same version of a character in both lists – you can have Epic Eiryss and Prime Eiryss in different lists, but not Epic Eiryss in both lists) . There is no requirement to play both lists on the day. See: http://privateerpress.com/files/SR2012%2...20V1.2.pdf for full Steamroller rules.

Timed turns with extension, this will be casual timing (i.e. 10 min turns for 35 pts) although we will decide by player consensus on the day (if everyone agrees, we will go for 7 mins!).

Painting is required by the store, a 3 colour minimum plus LoS arcs on the bases.
Initially this will be up to 16 players with a possibility of expansion if there is demand.

Don’t forget to include 7 points of reinforcements in each list! – There may or may not be a reinforcements scenario on the day. If you can bring along a few objectives (50mm bases), that would be helpful.

£7.50, please pay in advance either in store or contact Cut and Thrust wargaming on tel:01173 020 021 and speak with Alex or Dan at the store or paypal alex@cutandthrustwargaming.com

15% off on pre-ordered warmachine and hordes stock collected on the day, call or email the details above no later than 1 week before the tournament to avoid disappointment.

Go on just try sink my battle ship.

Ok huge apologies for not being around much, life, work, child, and alien mind rays getting through my tin foil hat.

March I would like to get some games in of Dystopian Wars, there is little point before hand as the rules are about to change, but on a good note the new rule book will be available (in theory) from Feb the 27th 2012 !!

So be a time to try the new rules blow ships up and drink tea.

im thinking an escalation campaign. this is a rough and ready idea but here goes... these are just a guid, it maybe to agressive an escalation for some, but dont forget its for fun so people can join forces and work together to make the points up

Week 1 Naval battle box

week 2 500 points Naval only

week 3 750 point introducing air units

week 4-7 1000 to 2000 points naval and air

week 8 Land battle box with 10 tiny tokens from the naval sets

week 9 500 point land and fortifications.

week 10 1000 land / fortifications and air.

week 11 2000 split between land sea and air... with a min of 500 point of each type.

in all cases i would ask that players will only use painted miniatures.

Im currently making soem islands, if they work out well enough i can bring them down to populate a table.

ok NEWS on the NEW rule book.

Spartan Games is pleased to announce that the Dystopian Wars Edition 1.1 Master Rulebook will be available to ship from February 27th. This edition brings together a number of key changes to the rules system, a refinement of the rules text and tweaks to the Stat Cards of certain models, all of which enhance the game and deliver a better tournament experience. Rules for new nations, such as the Covenant of Antarctica and Republic of France, will NOT be included in Edition 1.1 - these factions have their own A5 Fleet Guides.

Right now we've survived Curtain of Fire & we have our V3 rulebooks its about time we got the Raiding Aces campaign going.

It works much like the Infantry Aces campaign we did not long ago.

Its Early or mid-war forces, It is based in the desert, the main source book to use is Burning Empires, there is a list of legal lists in the raiding aces booklet (can be found in the store by the map) but I will allow people to request to use a different list, just remember the missions are designed for fast light raider forces & large garrison forces so that rules out a lot of army types as most of the lists in the raiding aces book lack anti-tank weapons.

The forces begin at 500points, then in round 2 increase to 700 points & finally round 3 900 points, Once round 3 is over we will have a big multi-player game for some fun.

If people are starting armies specifically for this (I am) then blogs of your progress would be great & let all your buddies know, if anyone is thinking of getting into flames an escalating campaign like this is an awesome way to learn the game & get an army together.

I will just get a general idea of numbers over the next few days to a week & sort out a starting date soon.

SO register interest on this thread, any questions about army choice you can either post here, PM me or ask me at the store.

REMINDER; We will be using V3 for this, its a good way for people to learn the rules with fast small games.

Also if you aren't interested in a desert force don't worry just paint & base your force how you want it, it will look awesome using desert armies on a desert board but i understand not everyone wants to build a force just for the campaign, I'd rather we had guys playing than not!

Any questions either post here or PM me.
This is my fisrt attempt at arranging a game through this forum. Is anyone interested in a game of warhammer fantasy 8th ed on sat (any time)? I've just got myself an empire army (90% painted) and I'm keen to make a start playing. I've just finished reading up the rules and have played a few games in the past (and 1 quick walk through in GW). I'm up on most of the rules just a few holes in my knowledge here and there so if anyone would like to play please let me know! I'm sure I wont be a noob for long.

Hi my names Harry and I feel like I'm at an AA meeting.

Yet another fool who has spent far far too much time away from soldiers and has been dragged back into the hobby by the beautiful minis of Malifaux. I play Malifaux (or want to at least) and have nearly finished a tidy little ogre battalion for WHFB. Also, Infinity keeps whispering sweet nothings at me and I may end up haemoraging my wallet on it. Rpg's are dug by me as well (don't know what hapened to that sentence like).

Other than war games I like board games, computer games, beverages and hats.

So lots of you may have played fumbbl which is a nice java port of blood bowl. Well who is interested in POKEMON ONLINE. It is another java based port but this time it is of the pokemon battling system. There is no levelling you just choose your pokemon team and then battle away!
Anyone fancy joining the C&T pokemon league?

Good day all. I have been attending Cut 'n' Thrust every thursday for about a month in the hope of finding an opponent for Malifaux. Alas, I have been doomed to play my freinds Lucius gang every week or no one at all if he can't make it. However I have been (hopefully) reliably informed that all you crazy malifaux jokers go down on a Tuesday.

Is this true? If I bring down my (very) rookie Rasputina gang on a tuesday will I have a lovely opponent?
